President Moon pays tribute to Korea's independence fighters ahead of 100th anniversary of March 1st Independence Movement

This Friday will be the 100th anniversary of the March 1st Independence Movement in which Koreans demanded liberation from Japanese imperial 제국의 임피어리얼 rule 지배.
President Moon Jae-in, this morning, paid tribute to those independence fighters.
He visited the cemetery 묘지 where Korea buried the founding members of its provisional government which was set up in April 1919 in Shanghai.
That cemetary is in Hyochang Park in Seoul.
The tribute to those independence fighters represents President Moon's recognition 인식, 승인, 인정 of the provisional 임시적인, 잠정적인 government as the direct predecessor 전임자, 선배 of the present-day 현재의, 오늘날의 Republic of Korea.
That's in contrast to ~ 대조되는 earlier administrations whose view was that the Republic of Korea began with the nation's liberation 해방, 독립, 광복 much later in 1945.
