4.1 magnitude earthquake detected in waters near southeastern port city
An earthquake was detected Sunday afternoon off the coast of Pohang, in Korea's southeast, registering at magnitude 4.1.
There have been no casualties reported, and at that magnitude, there's not likely to be much damage.
According to the Korea Meteorological Agency 기상청, the quake occured at 12:53 PM -- around 50 kilomters away from Pohang at a depth of 21 kilometers.
It was followed about an hour later by a tremor 진동, 전율, 떨림 of magnitude 2.5.
Seismic activity in the area has risen in recent years.
A quake in 2017 damaged hundreds of buildings and injured dozens of people.
